Session Description

Reflection is what we do during and at the end of a unit to think critically about the learning process. It is a time set aside to contemplate what we learned, how we learned and where we might connect it to the real world. In this session, we will examine how to implement process- oriented digital portfolios that promote self-assessment and reflection for students as they learn. Explore the best Google infused tools available and how to easily setup your classroom digital workflow when using digital portfolios.

Tanya Avrith M.A. EdTech is the co-author of the newly released book The Google Infused Classroom. She is an Education Strategist as well as well as the Personal Branding and Digital Communication Teacher at North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek, Florida. Tanya consults with schools to help plan and execute large-scale deployments and professional development plans for Digital Citizenship, iPad and Chromebook initiatives. She previously served as the Lead Educational Technology and Digital Citizenship Teacher at the Lester B. Pearson School Board in Montreal, Canada. While there she was instrumental in the vision and execution of the district-wide Digital Citizenship Program ( leading to her being invited to Facebook to discuss Digital Citizenship Education. She is a Google Certified Innovator and Apple Distinguished Educator. Tanya has worked as an Elementary, Middle School and High School Teacher.
