Preventing Digital Disasters: Student Tech Teams

Session Description

Distributing devices in the fall? You have probably invested a lot of time and money in the planning process. Your preparation should not be complete until you find a way to engage students in being an integral part of the shift in instruction. Creating a student tech team provides students the opportunity to develop digital leadership skills in technology integration and innovation by assisting the school community with technology integration support in a variety of ways.

Michelle, a confessed collaboration junkie, is a Digital Learning Champion and Google Certified Innovator. Her day job is the eLearning Development Specialist for the Indiana DOE. She came into this role through her work in Evansville, IN schools as a high school 1:1 coach and district tech integration specialist. Prior to supporting colleagues in transforming their instruction, Michelle was a language arts teacher. In her current role, Michelle developed the Hoosier Student Digital Leaders program and works with the IN ISTE affiliate, ICE, to facilitate the Connected Coach Collaborative.
