This session is about blending Google Docs and writing instruction in secondary schools. You’ll participate in a writing protocol called “Frankenstein Free Response Questions” where students write individually and then collaboratively peer edit to become better writers. Not only do students have to think about their writing more, but the teacher’s grading load is reduced by two-thirds.
John has loved technology ever since he found an Atari 2600 under the Christmas Tree in 1981. He started teaching in Kansas in the mid 1990s and has been at Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minnesota since 2001. He teaches AP Government, is a Digital Learning Coach, and helped lead a Chromebook rollout to 1,600 students.
